policy prioritises few elite languages at the cost
of smaller communities’ languages both at the
national and regional levels. For a long time, Tibeto-Burman
and Astro-Asiatic languages have been marginalised
by not being included in the constitutional provisions.
Due recognition of all languages can only insure solution
to the ongoing crisis.
